Glossier is one of those brands that you see plastered all over Instagram, which has risen in popularity over the past couple of years. So, naturally, you took it upon yourself to do a little research beyond trusting your favorite influencer’s opinion. Well, you’ve come to the right place.
Glossier is a well-known skincare brand, however this doesn’t mean it’s a good skincare brand. If you have sensitive skin, it may not be the best brand to opt for. It also depends on the product, as some are great, whereas others are not so great.
Read on if you would like to find out which products are the best in the Glossier range.
If you have sensitive skin, it’s probably best to steer clear of Glossier skincare products as many of their products are formulated with essential oils, which will cause irritation, redness and even allergies. It’s recommended to stay away from fragrances when it comes to skincare.
Their SPF is composed of chemical sunscreen, which is not great for both the ocean nor your skin.
Additionally, many of their better ingredients (which are some of their largest selling points), aren’t even included in concentrations over 1%. So, they’re not going to be able to work their magic and it’s kind of a waste of your money.
Their exfoliating skin perfector contains salicylic acid, glycolic acid and lactic acid which all act as chemical exfoliators to leave your skin baby-smooth. Niacinamide is also an ingredient in this product which helps with dullness and dark spots as well as controlling oil secretion. However, this one still does have a slight added fragrance to it, but nothing drastic.
Eye & Lip Cream
Just like many other eye and lip creams, Glossier’s eye and lip plumping cream is formulated with hyaluronic acid in order to lock in moisture and maintain a youthful glow. This product does contain silicones, so if your lips or under eye area is sensitive to silicones it is best to avoid this one, however most people should not have an issue with it. This product is also fragrance-free, hurrah!
This product has received many positive reviews, so we recommend if you’re going to get anything from Glossier, try this one.
Going further into the realms of skincare, Glossier also produce a number of serums which you can incorporate into your routine. These include:
- Super Pure Serum: This is formulated with niacinamide and zinc which can help with oil control and dark spots. This one has thousands of shining reviews.
- Super Glow Serum: Vitamin C and magnesium in this product help protect against free radicals from the sun’s harmful UV rays. It is also anti-aging, and vitamin C is an antioxidant. Helps your skin glow from the inside out.
- Super Bounce: Of course, our favorite; hyaluronic acid. Vitamin B5 in this formula also helps add glow and smooth-ness.
All three serums are cruelty-free, and have no added unnecessary chemicals or fragrances. However, if you’re looking for skincare on a budget, these serums (retailing at around $28) aren’t going to be the one.
